Sheikh Mohammed Abdel Wahid was born and raised in Egypt. He was brought up in a religious household, memorizing the Qur’an and studying the Islamic sciences at a young age. He studied in the Al-Azhar educational system his entire life-from grade school until graduate school. He received his bachelors and masters degrees from Al-Azhar University in Islamic law and Islamic legal theory. He also has studied with various scholars in and outside of Al-Azhar, receiving ijaazat from them. He has taught Islamic law and legal theory on various television channels, is a member of several fatwa boards and councils, has explained many texts in the Islamic sciences in mosques in the Middle East, and is an author in Islamic law and legal theory. He is one of the most well-known scholars in Islamic law and legal theory today, famous for reviving the study of the four legal sunni schools of Islamic law. He is especially known for his expertise in the Hanbali school.
