Imām al-Muzanī (r) said that Imām al-Shāfi’ī (r) said:
❝I saw in Baghdād a young man, whenever he said “Such and such has been narrated to us…” everyone said “He has spoken the truth.”❞
❝Who was that?❞ asked al-Muzanī (r)
He replied, ❝Ahmad b. Hanbal (r).❞
