I have a wife in the USA and a wife in Canada. I am trying to bring my wife from Canada to the states. The problem is when I fill out rental applications for a home they ask about everyone living in the house. I do not want to mention my wife from Canada because she is not a legal alien.
Hence if they find out she is living in the house they could technically terminate the contract. Also I do have a rental from a Muslim brother but it’s in a very bad neighborhood which I fear for my children’s safety. I tried going to Islamic bank to buy a house but my credit is not good enough.
I asked how to raise my credit without interest and they say get a credit card just pay on time. I believe the contract is haram because their is interest in the contract as stated by scholars. I’m saddened that a riba based bank has pre approved for me to buy a house but an Islamic bank has not.
Never the less my question is can I take a loan to buy a house from a riba based bank due to being rejected by an Islamic bank, not wanting to lie on rental application with the fear of being kicked out of the property owner finds out?
… and the only available rental that I have now is in a bad neighbourhood which I fear from my families safety. Keep in mind Since Covid I have not lived with my wife for over two years and since the borders are finally opening up now is time to finally get her and my two children to the states.
I fear for my family but I also fear for my religion in this situation. Your advice would be sincerely appreciated. May Allah reward you well. Ameen.
