Assalamualaikum,
I was running late and offered Zuhr fardh salah just before the beginning of the Asr salah. Another brother walked in and assumed I was praying Asr fardh and joined me in salah in my second rakat.

At the time I did not know that the brother was taking me as his imam until I realised he was coming down for ruku and sujud at the same time as me often. I got anxious as I did not know what to do and I panicked. I reasoned that he made intention to pray asr fardh salah and that it will count for him.

Q1: Was both of our Prayers Valid?

Q2: If not, Am i sinful for making his prayer invalid?
