Asalaamualaikum wa rahmatu Allahi wa barakaatuhuu Dear Respected Shuyookh,

I hope you are prospering in health and imaan.I have many questions which seem to be difficult to find the answer to as a layman and I was hoping that you could help answer them.

  • When rising to complete the missed part of a congregational prayer (e.g. only prayed 2 rakaat of maghrib with the imam and need to pray one more after the imam says salaam), is the takbeer a transitional takbeer or a takbeeratul ihraam?
  • Is it permissible to single out Sundays only for fasting? It seems like the easiest day to fast regularly on in the West with the Monday – Friday work schedule.
  • When fasting, can we take a hot shower in which some steam might appear in the bathroom? Does inhaling the warm air/steam break the fast? It is not a very dense cloud of steam but more of a light fog.
