TalibibnH asked 4 years agoim a convert of 18 years, i started of salafi, then converted to Shia now i want to convert to Sunni, i said ya hussain, i did not commit shirk intentionally, could i be forgiven and convert to the Sunni Hanbali madhab? Would i have to renew my Shahadah?

Alhamdulillah, if someone used to worship idols, then repented to Allah and remained firm upon the worship of Allah alone, his repentance would be accepted and he would be a Muslim. So if you did something like what you mentioned in the past, then later repented, Allah accepts your repentance and you are a Muslim alhamdulillah. You do not need to repeat your Shahadah. It suffices that you recite it every day in prayer and that from now on you are cautious about worshipping Allah according to the teachings of the Prophet.
