Sheikh Faris was born in the City of Mosul in Iraq. He began seeking knowledge with the scholars of Iraq where he studied fiqh, usul al-fiqh, aqeedah, grammar, morphology, rhetoric, hadith, logic, inheritance, and other sciences. From his teachers in Iraq are Sheikh Usamah Ibn Jasim Al-Hanbali, Sheikh Sa’d Allah Al-Mosuli, Sheikh Hazim Ibn Muhammad Abd Al-Razzaq, Sheikh Sabir Mahmoud Al-Zebari, Sheikh Mohammed Khalaf Salamah Al-Mosuli. He then he traveled to Al-Sham where he studied with the scholars there. He received ijazat in various Islamic sciences. He currently resides in Turkey where he teaches the Hanbali madhab.
