❝Praise be to Allah alone:
Here are some directions pertaining to the books of the Madhhab and the way to decipher that which may appear unclear/complex within the books:
1) If you find the wording (of a certain issue) in al-Rawd al-Murbi’ difficult to understand, you will find it unraveled in Sharhu-l Muntaha of al-Buhuti as Imam al-Buhuti frequently brings sentences from al-Muntaha into al-Rawd verbatim. You will also find the elaboration in Sharhu-l Iqna’ (Kasshafu-l Qina’), written more clearly, with more elucidation.
2) When you cannot understand the wording of Sharhu-l Muntaha then you will find a better presentation of it in the explanation of Ibn al-Najjar (of al-Muntaha) and in Kashaf al-Qina’.
3) When you cannot understand the wording in Sharhu-l Iqna’ (Kashaf al-Qina’) then its elucidation is with Ibn al-Najjar and also in al-Mubdi’ (by Burhan al-Din Ibn Muflih).
4) If you cannot understand the wording in the (actual text) of al-Muntaha (despite its own commentaries) then refer to its two source books, al-Muqni’ (by al-Muwaffaq) and al-Tanqih (by al-Mardawi) whilst referring to the different commentaries on al-Muqni’, especially al-Mubdi’ and al-Insaf (by al-Mardawi).
5) Many of the issues in al-Muntaha and al-Iqna’ and the disagreements between the two, the source of all this is al-Furu’ (by Shams al-Din Ibn Muflih) and the clarification of these issues and disagreements lies therein as well. If you find the wording of al-Furu’ difficult to understand then a lot of the times you will find the solution with al-Mardawi in al-Insaf where he quotes al-Furu’ with his own words, and likewise in the Hawashi of Ibn Qundus.❞
