Du’ā for Khatm al-Qurān in Tarāwīh
Two things:
a) It is to be done in the final Rak’ah of Tarāwīh.
b) It is to be done before going to Rukū’.
This has been explicitly stated by Imām Ahmad (r) where he based it on the ‘Amal Ahl Makkah and Sufyān b. ‘Uyaynah.
The Du’ā is as follows:
a) Is reciting any other Du’ā fine? Yes.
b) Instead of making this Du’ā in the final Rak’ah of Tarāwīh before Rukū’ is it ok to do Khatm in the Witr and do the Du’ā therein? Yes. Imām Ahmad (r) was asked this and he was fine with it.
c) Hands are raised during it and face wiped upon completion.
