Ruling of washing the beard during Wudu:
• A thick beard is that through which the colour of the skin underneath does not become apparent, and a thin beard is the opposite.
• If the beard is thick then it is obligatory to include the exterior of the beard whilst washing the face, i.e – the exterior of the beard needs to be washed as well; and passing wet fingers through it for the interior of the beard is preferred (Mustahabb).
• If the beard is thin then one has to wash both the interior and exterior of the beard.
• When we say “interior of the beard” we mean the skin under the beard
